This mild, pleasant beverage can help to improve liver detox, bile flow, and fat digestion. Start with recipe #1, then work your way down the list until you find the recipe that produces a large, clean bowel movement.
Recipe #1 Beginning Lemon Cleanse
- Juice of 1 whole, organic lemon
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional – 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high for 1 minute.
Drink the beverage on an empty stomach when you are not going anywhere for the next 12 hours. An empty stomach means 2 hours after dinner, or the first thing in the morning. This increases bowel movements, so stay near a toilet when you are trying a new version of the recipe.
Day 1: Drink just 1/4 cup of this beverage.
Day 2: If 1/4 cup felt fine, then drink 1/2 cup of the beverage.
Day 3: If 1/2 cup felt fine, then drink the whole beverage.
When you get a large, clean bowel movement, then you know the drink is working. If you don’t feel any effects from the whole beverage, then proceed to recipe #2.
The oil triggers bile flow through the liver, gallbladder, and intestines, resulting in a large, clean bowel movement.
Recipe #2 – Lemon Cleanse, Increasing Oil
- 1 whole organic lemon, juiced
- 1 cup warm water
- 2-4 tablespoons olive oil
- optional – 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
The right amount of oil for you will trigger more bile flow and a large, clean bowel movement. Too much oil will cause temporary diarrhea.
Day 1: Increase to 1.5 tablespoons of oil and drink the entire beverage.
Day 2: If 1.5 tablespoons of oil did not cause a large bowel movement, increase to 2 tablespoons of oil.
Day 3: If 2 tablespoons did not cause a large bowel movement, increase to 2.5 tablespoons of oil.
Day 4: continue increasing the amount of oil, up to 4 tablespoons. When you find the right dose of oil, then proceed to recipe #3. If you don’t find the right dose, contact me.
Recipe #3 – Advanced Lemon Cleanse
- 1 whole lemon, sliced. Remove the seeds, but do not juice the lemon.
- 1 cup warm water
- Your personal amount of olive oil
- optional – 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
Lemon skin offers additional nutritional benefits for the skin, connective tissue, and liver detox. In the advanced recipe, you don’t juice the lemon, but blend the whole lemon, skin and all.
Weekly – continue this cleanse once a week, long-term, to keep your liver, gallbladder, and bowels healthy.
