The gut microbiome consists of bacteria which helps turn food into energy and satisfaction or high blood sugar and cravings depending on the type of bacteria. Maybe the cravings are not your fault and it’s actually the bad bacteria in your gut just trying to feed itself?

We can manipulate these bacteria with specific supplements and food to lower glucose and help with cravings. Healthy bacteria create compounds that increase energy, raise metabolism and lower glucose. Bad bacteria can create compounds that raise glucose levels and increase appetite.

From 2007 to 2016 the National Institute of Health ran the Human Microbiome Project in which they collected samples of bacteria from different people and different body sites then tested and catalogued the bacteria. From this research and the health of the subjects they were able to find patterns that showed which bacteria are associated with lower glucose levels and lower body mass. In the next step the supplement company, Pendulum Therapeutics, created products with these specific bacterial probiotic strains and tested them, measuring their effect on blood glucose in human subjects. These tests showed an improvement in blood glucose immediately and in A1c after 3 months.

  • Specific Lactobacillus strains were shown to help regulate appetite by increasing your own production of GLP-1. (the compound in Ozempic and similar medications)
  • Specific Bifidobacterial strains were shown to reduce inflammation which helps with weight and body pain.
  • Other, lesser-known bacterial families influence appetite, weight, mood and inflammation which all contribute to glucose levels.

With the Gut Microbiome Program we use this research to manipulate your gut bacteria to work for you, supporting glucose levels and a healthy weight.

The Gut Microbiome Program combines the following

  1. An herbal formula to break down bad bacteria and biofilms
  2. Personalized probiotic strains to reseed the gut microbiome with beneficial bacteria.
  3. Special prebiotic supplements to feed those probiotic bacteria
  4. Recipes to support your new healthy gut
  5. Ongoing support to walk you through the program

How it works

  • 3 months of coaching with weekly check-ins by phone, email or in person
  • Supplement recommendations and guidelines for each phase
  • Food recommendations and recipes to keep you motivated
